‘‘The moment I was hooked with wildlife photography was the first time a male roe deer looked straight at me from only few meters away and I managed to capture the moment’’

Born in Romanian in 1989, I lived all my life with an unsuspected passion for the outdoors and nature in general but especially for animals. I say unsuspected because in my childhood and teenage years it didn’t occur to me that nature and animals could be a passion, a hobby, or even turn into a career. Not having anyone around me that shared the same lust of being around animals, studying them or playing with them, not even having someone to point out my passions and encourage me in this directions, I have spent a good part of my life trying to figure out what I like and what I want to do.

After spending 3 years of my life studying for a degree that I did not get even today, I have decided to do something related to animals and the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Cluj-Napoca was my choice. After getting my degree in Animal Husbandry in 2015 I moved to Denmark and worked with animals (mostly horses) ever since. Still, my biggest passion is wildlife, ecology, and conservation so I always watched documentaries, read books and magazines, and generally tried to inform myself about my passions.

The first time I got out with a camera was in the spring of 2018. I took my girlfriend’s Nikon D 3200 and a 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 that I bought for myself and headed out to one of the local lakes. I wished for many years to learn photography and to get out in nature more so this was my starting point for doing so. The moment I was hooked with wildlife photography was the first time a male roe deer looked straight at me from only a few meters away and I managed to capture the moment. Since that wildlife photography became more than a hobby for me, it became a lifestyle, a way to express myself, and a way to maintain my mental health in difficult moments. I became somewhat obsessed with this hobby which I find is the perfect combination of being around animals without keeping them captive, recharging from nature, and producing wonderful pictures that I can share with anyone interested in seeing them.

I plan to do wildlife photography for the rest of my life and I hope to become better at it every day.

Thank you for the visit, I hope you enjoyed my work!
